I am using Wing IDE Pro and Eclipse (with pydev) and prefer Eclipse over Wing for a number of reasons. 1. Open Source, cross-platform 2. Pydev integrates with PyLint and highlights problems in code editor/console 3. Integration with Git using the Egit/Jgit plugin 4. Diff with local versions/from git repository 5. Support for tasks i.e., tags like TODO:, FIXME: in code
Here is a post I wrote a while ago on this topic http://vimalkumar.in/2010/07/13/eclipse-as-a-python-ide/ The main reason I prefer eclipse is due to its extensibility. It supports a number of languages. I also use it for editing HTML and RPM spec files. Pydev also has support for django and Google app engine projects. As for Wing, the source assistant and debug probe features are really good. The debug probe feature in Pydev is not as good as in Wing (no history). Wing also supports Git and Diff like Eclipse but I haven't had a chance to test them. There is a free version of Wing called Wing101 but with limited features when compared to the pro version.
