Yeah, so I think we could feel comfortable with JSON. Indeed
substructures like lap info can be integrated in a very lean & smart
manner.

[This is what I meant about passing parameters to such an exportJSON.py:
E.g. give me only main data about activities or include all laps]

One thing missing in JSON is a native date format, so one has to agree
on some (standard) string representation.

Me too ;) There are cases where its complexity is very valuable but too
often it's just annoying.

OK, let's discuss more after the release. I just fell over this topic
due to the CSV crash...
