0.02 cm is the default line with of GLE (glx.sf.net).

Nowadays, I would prefer to have slightly thicker default lines, so
maybe we should indeed use 1 pt as default.

This just depends on what you want to do with the figure, every default choice is somehow arbitrary. Well, we can stick on PostScripts default, right. This would be an obvious choice. However, this breaks a lot of code (outside) -- I guess many people will complain. And additionally (although I haven't tried) 1 pt is likely to be too much.

Note that there is a special wscale in the unit system. Changing its value (by unit.set(wscale=2) for example) will alter the line width in a figure without changing the other dimensions.
