Jing, I have a little difference opinion. Compare behavior with sheet protection. after enable sheet protection in spreadsheet, whenever input or paste text into it, there is always a warning dialog to let user know the sheet is protected. So back to this story I think it's a defect rather than enhancement.
@Georges, I think you can open a defect to report this issue.
