Hi,

the question is if you need this as a real new geometry or if a graphical representation is good enough.

In the new symbology of QGIS 1.7 and 1.8 you can do assymmetric lines by specifiying a positive or negative line offset. This would create your unilateral buffer graphically, but not as a new geometry.

Would this be ok for you?

Do you need help on setting this line offset?

Andreas

Hello,

I'm working on Cameroon coastal layer shapefile and i would like generate several unilateral buffers : buffers only on one side (toward ocean) and no
toward continent.

How to do that on Qgis 1.8 ?

Thank you to throw light for me.

Kind regards.
