Hello Nathan,

Right, the option may be OK, just make it prominent.

Anything to avoid the mapset nightmare is welcome. That was another time waster and I never did figure it out, especially the Group option. One of the help screens showed a diagram of the umpteen levels of folders but it still seems like an arduous process. I had hoped that one could define a mapset to include a folder that already had files in it, but it seemed that one had to create empty folders and then import all the map files. Give me strength, there's only so many hours in the day!

Yeah there is on going talk about what we can do here.Â Maybe even killing theÂ simplifiedÂ interface, not sure yet.Â

The progressing toolbox should do what you need and you won't have to worry about map sets and all that.Â

Ok, thanks. I'm installing QGIS on W7 yet again, trying to achieve better functionality. That is a challenge in itself, prone to wrong turns. Hopefully the VectorGeoref will then work.
