Hi Andy, thank you! Your advice was the most efficient! Because my pictograms are square, a filled and properly scaled square marker ist perfect!
Before I got your e-mail, I had already solved it using SVG markers, which I had to generate first. Since I do this processing in R, I just had to switch from PNG to SVG output.
