(I am speaking for myself here and definitely not for Rich that did the coding so I don't want to see any comments addressed to him... pound me all you like however;-))Pound.
Aaaanywayyy, the answer to the last question is why not?Absurd comment. Windows is a different system on a different platform. We are talking about buying a more efficient O/S and maybe some better hardware for the same system.
The whole point of not upgrading everything you have to use software is at the heart of QLing... if you have to upgrade EVERYTHING why the hell don't you go buy yourself Windows?
For most QLers, this is an expensive hobby that should give something in return...But if you want to go from the UK to the USA you can't do it in your car alone. At some point you have to take a plane or boat. It is an upgrade.
Plus I do not believe there's no single "Bad" user out there... everyone has their own demands and capabilities and goals using a computer system... we may not agree with them but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't cater for them... all inclusiveness never hurt anyone :-)
This is fine if it works but the QWord developers are the ones who are saying the system has not been set up how they want it and complaining that it is extra work for them trying to sort out the problems.
So if you are able to NOT buy something extra and still use the features of your hardware, that's incentive enough for the program to be bought to begin with.... this is called a good bang for the buck here (and everywhere else).
No one said that. But then you can't take colour photos with black and white film.
I did not see anyone complaining about Photon when it came out (that WAS using Aurora's 256 colour mode WITHOUT any colour drivers or -even- SMSQ/e... it was welcomed by all Aurora owners that bothered to check it out and nobody (to my knowledge at least) made any fuss about it... The suggestion that one should use only software that takes advantage of the OS and not the hardware itself is in my VERY HUMBLE opinion misguided...
What you are in essence saying is that people that will not follow the mainstream should be cast away as irrelevant... I am sorry but I have to disagree on this...No, we suggest they should invest in the system they use IF they want to use software that is slightly beyond the reach of the hardware they have. That way they feed back to they system and encourage people who do all this work to keep doing it.
