Might give that a go...have to check the driver...all I managed to get from 
the black was a single dot that petered out after 1-2 lines then nowt, no 
matter what I tried.  The colours gradually started to work in a fashion as 
the various jets unblocked and are now fine (or rather were when I last 
tried it...a couple of months ago, so may need unblocking again).

afaik, there are Linux printer drivers available for [some of] the 
WinPrinters...there's a site [somewhere - got the url somewhere] which lists 
which are compatabile (aka been reverse engineered/specs provided and 
drivers written?) and which are not.
