I don't recommend to handle the index files directly. Use qlayt.exe from the command prompt to transfer files to/from DOS from to QL2K drives. QLAYT is located in the same folder as where QL2K.EXE is installed. Just type QLAYT from the command prompt being in that folder and read the help that appears.
