Isnt it rather unwise to have such code in the generic portion of 
smsq/e? (if indeed it is). Different platforms may, for example, have 
differing low level housekeeping tasks to perform that could lead to 
considerable variations in the regularity of the 50Hz frame interrupt, 
and emulators may not always be able to accurately implement it.

I think you (Marcel) once explained that QPC2 regularly re-reads the 
hardware clock to ensure accuracy - or at least conformity - with 
Windows. That could be one way of solving the problem across he board?
