For what its worth I did do a minimal boot ie SMSQE only both the one in Rom which is version 2.98 and the one on the hard drive which is 3.13. the same drift occurs. Therefore it is either a hardware problem or a software problem in the OS. Also on a related matter as I have not quite got my head round the correction bits in the hardware clock I have a simple adjustment program which I run as part of my boot. On my calculations my hardware clock only gains about 5 to 10 seconds a day.
