No ATX PSU will work with any QL system unless you wire a 'Power On' switch onto the 20 pin connector. Something I suggested you build years ago but I was ignored.

There is no 'approriate power button' (sic). The motherboard consoles the power on. Simple..

Yes Tony, I have looked it up, and I can now see why you refer to the unit as AT not ATX it is because of the connectors. I live and learn. My faulty AT unit has the 2- 6way motherboard connectors a switchlead, diskdrive connectors, thats all. If your unit will relace mine please send it
I will send you cash off as soon as you confirm it.
ATX ones are fine for the QL, as long as the backplane uses the Molex (4-way) connectors, like Mplane and one grounds the power sense pin, or uses it in an ATX case with the approriate power button. I suspect you are using Qplane as you need P10/P11 connectors. I *hate* those connectors, as it is perfectly easy to connect them the wrong way. It is so long since I have used them, but don't they need the GND (black cables) next to each other in the centre. Whoever designed them should be shot. Maybe they have been (8-)#
Be *very* careful you connect them back correctly.

Come to think of it, why did you reach the conclusion it is a faulty power supply?

I should be able to post it tomorrow.

Tony
