Is the file format documented anywhere?

There should be a lot of low level detail of the format of all of the Psion
suite in the TexTIDY Reference manual. This is a Quill document that
should have the name "Textidy_ref". Most of the information was obtained
by reverse engineering the file formats for both the QL and PC variants of
the programs.

If you want I could email you a copy?

Yes please, thanks. I did a similar job for Archive files many years ago. I remember there was a heavily bugged archive rescue program published in the last QL User. It was by Chas Dillon I think, but was clearly only a draft. I bet QLU simply gathered up all the articles they had.

John Gilpin generously calls the bug I found a feature.
A bug it is though. I cannot see any reason when exporting by column *not* to output the whole spreadsheet, at least optionally. I cannot think of *one* spreadsheet I have made that has all the top row filled.
Why on earth should one have to?
It is an obvious place to put a date and a spreadsheet description, as indeed are all the spreadsheets I am doing for Winchester Research Unit.

What a pain. This conversion routine will be the first serious QL programming I will have done for years!
I can't believe no-one has done it before.
This could turn into a major project, as it might then be possible to output Excel directly along with formulae.
I must investigate the format of that!

Tony
