Hi Norman & Wolfgang,

the masters are in Calamus CDK format. Also, the Fonts are only available for Calamus (no Truetype). A Master file is between 20 and 30 MB in size.

I would be interested what you would do with a Calamus CDK file ...
if you want one, you can have one.

Whatever PDF drivers you use - in order to get text (which does not need to be manually checked and corrected), you need to get text output from
Calamus printer driver - and this was just not planned 20 years ago.

I have experimented a bit with Open Office and find it terrible to use.
The way it handles Tabs and formatting is horrible - it is not a DTP program at all in my opinion, compared to Calamus or InDesign etc. And - I simply do not have weeks and weeks of time to learn how to use another program properly.

Any volunteers for Volume 16?

Hello Jochen,

My son, who is well into such things, says that Scribus is by far the freeware DTP programme of choice. I understand that my grandchildren will be using it, but I don't do any DTP nowadays.

Cheers,
