formatted first and you cannot mount a partition on a drive number
that is
already in use; so, if the boostrap worked, then a partition is
already
mounted as drive 1 so a MOUNT 1,1,1 will fail. ...

Now, after initialising SER1 at 9600 and QM_GO, DIR USB1_ works.

(So it really does not need MOUNT command, and it does not work with
19200 bd, which requires to be connected to SER3_).
