Having upgraded to VMware 4, I now see what you mean. When I had VMware 2
*all* new devices automatically installed to Mac or VMware depending on the
focus.
Is your floppy part of the system or a removable device? If it is removable,
surely you got a dialogue window the first time. Maybe you then checked the
box "Always perform this action" in the window asking whether you wanted
connection to Mac or Windows.
