All, (Have somehow been cut off from ql-users and have now resubscribed) the modifications to the cabling as shown in the video seem to be necessary only on older RPi revisions. Mine (received in November) worked without modifications to the cabling. Apparently (according to som blog entries I found) this has to do with the specific make of HDMI adapter - It should connect really all the wires and not just a bare minimum.
I use a µHDMI-to-full adapter that I got from Amazon plus some standard, unmodified HDMI and USB cables. If you ask Google for "Atrix Dock Raspberry Pi" there's lots of references.
