There have been two main versions of the Trump Card ROM. The original
didn't support the level 2 directories - all you could do was use the
'soft' TK2 directories. If I remember correctly, the more recent
Trumpcards, such as those produced by Qubbesoft, contained the
necessary extensions etc (i.e. the ROM code was there) but the Trump
Cards themselves didn't do hard directories. If Ron Dunnett is still
on this list, perhaps he can confirm this or correct me.

There was indeed a level 2 upgrade ROM from Falkenburg for Trump Card
and I think SuperQBoard too. It certainly gave the new level 2
commands but I don't know if it created and read actual 'hard'
directories. I think Jochen used to sell this so perhaps he can tell
us.
