It is.          The QL serial ports are dodgy.
To be _sure_ you are getting data through OK, use a terminal program
each end.  qtpi is the best QL program (with zmodem) but needs the
pointer environment with memory expansion - you I guess don't have this.

The std printer lead is no good.  You need to use RX/TX (of course) and
RTS/CTS. The QL 'DTR' is not that when used to another computer - it is
the direct equivalent of RTS.

Straight through lead to ser1 - crossover to ser2.

You could try copy <filename> ser2 (or ser1) but at a slow baud rate to
avoid problems.  When we first developed QL Terminal (in 1988) we found
2400 was the maximum safe rate, and even then sometimes chrs were lost.
The main problem was input to QL.

If you went this route, I could put QL Terminal on my web site, but this
only does Xmodem.
