IIRC the old FLOAD, FLRUN etc were indeed very similar to QLOAD, QLRUN
etc but significantly, FSAVEd programs would only reload/run on
systems with the same amount of memory as that on which they were
fsaved.

I had the original SuperBASIC Production Kit from Sinclair at the
time, and you are correct that the important bits were in files with
filenames consisting of spaces and underscores. Somewhere (and I
emphasise _somewhere_ as I have had builders in here for several weeks
now!) I still have the original SPK from Sinclair. At the time it was
strictly licenced and intended to help early software producers
produce software quickly and easily by introducing copy protection,
faster loading of basic programs and BREAK disable.
