NEVER heard of a dead USA QL PSU. Never sold a replacement PSU.
(well we did, but they were going to be used for something
 else entirely)
Only power problems we ever dealt with of a "dead" nature
was the socket on the motherboard coming loose. Did do a
LOT of the "Tom Bent" modifications to the USA QL's.
IT did seem to help a lot because NONE of those units
ever came back for additional repair work that was power related.
Both Frank and I ran all the "extras" on ours and had very
few power or heat problems after the mods were completed.
(At least we never saw or noticed any) Course, after replacing the
ROMs with a CMOS EPROM, the power requirements DROPPED a bunch.
That was a popular modification. Any QL's sent to us for this
modification we strongly suggested that the owner also have us do
the additional modifications Tom developed at the same time.
