For an email client, name resolution isn't 'vital' but it's very
convenient. Mail clients only need to know the IPs of the incoming and
outgoing mailservers, and these are unlikely to change over time. As a
get-us-going measure, we can survive without DNS until it is ready. Once
it is available, I'm all tilt for getting it fully in asap.
I'd give an example of the sort of SBASIC syntax I'd like, but someone
would post how you already do it ;)
