[ql-users] Di-ren kbd i/f

Hi all,
I have a encyclopaedic question to ask...
Did the Di-Ren kbd i/f have any sort of logic chip on it or not?
The picture that I have seen appears to have only a couple of capacitors and a 20MHz crystal.
The picture is not very clear and it's only one sided only however it seems to me like the board is a two layer one (semi-transparent at that too... ) and that it doesn't have anything on the side facing the QL...

Am I totally mistaken here? Or was a special version of the 8049 used for it?
