I got two Crayola Tablets (they are serial) one for my daughter's killer QL system to
draw on TV (and avoid the mess) and one for my Q40... It works just fine with my
regular QL as an IPC mouse (trouble is no DOing allowed but that's no problem for
me)...

It's dirt cheap ( $24.00 is nothing ) and it might be fun for some of you with kids :-)

The reason I bought it rests partly on Al Boehm and his grandson's QL games
software that gave me all sorts of ideas for upgrading the software I wrote for my
daughter :-) and partly on Arnould Nazarian ;-) I'll make sure I send them a copy,
once my QL TV-toy is finished :-) (So far it does display pictures of the Bear in the
Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie, Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street -All of them
copyrighted of course... but it's interesting enough for my daughter... it's going to
be BYOI (Bring Your Own Images) kind of thing :-).

Preliminary specs for the toy:

SGC / Aurora / RomDisQ or QubIDE/CF card for software updates
Minerva MK II for I2C (see Lego) connectivity
Slimline 40W (It's an overkill I know) PSU from ASTEC (Switchable 110/240 VAC)
Crayola (or other) Serial Tablet
Rugged Aluminum Case with rounded and Soft rubber-protected edges (and custom
Decal / Paintjob - to make it interesting for a 3 year old :-)

Since I haven't had an Aurora with a Minerva Rom so far I still don't know if the
extra modes can be invoked like with SMSQ/E (with direct hardware access) but I
am getting there :-)

I am still debating on how I am going to drive the TV (Europe is not a problem with
the scart but the States is... lucky me I have a Multisystem European tv here :-)
