It's the two country combo together with the markings (You should keep the USPS label of course)Not so rare to find post going astray, or do you mean from US?
I've kept the label...mainly for it's unecessary repetition.
Self adhesive as in lick and stick, or as in peel off and stick?Hmmmm sorry I used philatelic terms. Self-Adhesive is peel off and stick.
The original Penny Black had no gum on it (if I remember rightly)?
The UKPS seems to be heading towards the latter, so there'd surely be some value to the LAST of the former? No there's absolutely NO value in the Peel Off variety.
Other than to the Postal Service...
If I sparked your imagination...
Did collect stamps years ago, but have very little spare time to do anything but collect dust these days.
(And to be back on topic, I have for the longest time longed to create a CD rom with the Greek Stamp Catalogue, which I started when I was still working at Vlastos Philatelic Centre (THE source for all rare Greek Stamps) but never finished... Maybe I will create one now based on W.U's SuQCess which has almost all the features I wanted (Try to do anything like that using Access and you're in for a surprise!)...
Not really...unless you mean I'd be surprised that it's actually [easily] possible...
As I suspect for the longest time, prices in the UK are a joke... You guys must make a TRAINLOAD of money if you can afford (at least in our field) the prices I see. It's like anything IT, or leisure...cost in US: $29.95, cost in UK 35.95...and I thought the exchange rate was around 1=$1.40.
No suspicion in it...it's a well known fact over here. We don't have a trainload of money (it'd never get anywhere with the state of our railways...), but mugs who actually pay them. We did have a minor revolt over Fuel Tax, but that fizzled out.
biology (I wonder what cytosis has to do with Information Technology :-), but that's another -painful at least where it counts; in the pocket- story :-) )
It's obvious: taking the p*ss with the prices, especially when they hurt (eg in the UK)
...I'll have to ask mum to ask therecipient to carefully open the envelope and return it to me.As long as you keep the sticker and original USPS cancellations....
I'll try and get it back to see what marks have been added.
