$ ldd /usr/bin/qlandkartegt | grep gdal
libgdal1.6.0.so.1 => /usr/lib/libgdal1.6.0.so.1 (0xb7129000)
But, the package depends on (exactly) lidgdal1-1.6.0, so when trying to
remove libgdal-1.6.0 (to only keep the already installed version 1.8.0) it
tries to also uninstall QLGT. Not a big deal, but seems the package is not
OK, or I didn't manage to find "the version that uses GDAL 1.8.0". I think
the package should be changed to depend on libgdal1-1.8.0, or the mismatch
will prevent it from working correctly,.
Anyways, thanks a lot for the tip, I'll use the compiled version for now,
but will keep an eye on the thread should Roman or anyone else wants to
clarify the issue further.
