It's peculiar that the Live Log works and all other function won't. They use the same mechanism. Can you tell a bit more about what you have done to configure the USB bus? Did you follow the instructions of the GPSBabel FAQ http://www.gpsbabel.org/os/Linux_Hotplug.html? The same applies to QLGT. And does GPSBabel work for you? I can't be of much more help, because I do not own that device to test. The driver part has been donated years ago and is not maintained anymore. That is the one to open. QLGT will ask you for a basemap. That is the tricky part as the name can be anything. Sometimes it's the same as the *tdb file.
