Hi After battling through BaseCamp to plan a seven day hike I thought there must be a better way!
I am using mkgmap to create maps with contours from SRTM and data from OSM using TYPviewer for the rendering. I would like to. 1. Display the Garmin img file. Ok I read that I will need to use the tblfile option but what next? 2. Overlay Bing images over the Garmin IMG view. 3. Use the contours to convert a planned route to a hill graph. Yes with Basecamp you can display a hill track from elevations captured from the Garmin but I would like to do this when planning a walk. 4. Plan a route and then convert it to a track as JOSM will only display tracks. This is so I can add in features I can see from Bing. Also Garmin with routing maps does weird things. Anyway any guidance would be appreciated.
