running clamd as root works for me, this is why it works without a
problem using clamav 0.60, which ran clamd as root by default. This
seemed to be the lesser of 2 evils, having /var/spool/qmailscan world
writable seems messy.

Hi again,

I solved the problem of "Permission denied".
A note for slackware users (like me): for solve this problem you must run
chmod -R 777 /var/spool/qmailscanner and this in the _only_ solution for
working qmail-scanner-queue.pl as well.

Regards,
Fabrizio

open /var/spool/qmailscan/qmail-scanner-queue-version.txt - did you

Obviously I've initialse qmail-scanner with qmail-scanner-queue.pl -z and
