I appreciate this argument, but if I want to modify ls, I don't have to
deal with the original author.  It's therefore not an issue.  If I want to
modify qmail, I do have to deal with Dan due to the license.  I understand
his reasons for preferring the license that he uses, but using such a
license necessarily implies that people doing things with qmail have to
deal with Dan, and Dan's personality and mode of interaction *are* a
factor in deployment of qmail.

I personally have no problems whatsoever with his mode of interaction.  I
personally like it.  I'm also the only person in my acquaintance with that
opinion.

And I think I'll drop this topic here.  Talking about it on the list
doesn't do any good if Dan doesn't want to do anything about it, and if he
does, talking about it here isn't going to help either.
