Don't think this the point as from his description I think he does use
delivery to $HOME/Mailbox. Do you? Check your startup scripts for this!
If so: Try to expand the variable, so $MAIL does contain the full path
(eg. /home/graphic/Mailbox)! At least at my private RedHat System this
would work.
Or try to set a link to /var/spool/mail as *root*:
ln -s /home/graphic/Mailbox /var/spool/mail/graphic
This one did it on a SuSE-system (which I installed first and don't had
the opportunity to touch, as it is the mailing system for about 50
people and I decided to stay at home at nights and weekends ;-), so
maybe setting $MAIL would do it as well).
