Yes.  qmail-smtpd (more correctly, the tcpserver instance that runs
qmail-smtpd) runs as qmaild.

Two possibilities I can think of:

[1] The permissions on qmail-queue-real were mangled during the copy.
    It should be setuid qmailq, exec by all.

[2] The amavis script needs to run some stuff as user qmailq.  I don't
    use amavis myself, but setuid scripts don't setuid on any *nix
    variant I've seen.  If amavis is depending on this, a setuid binary
    wrapper is required.
