Sure looks like it is firewall -- I'm not getting a RST back from a
connection attempt. Check and recheck your firewall rules. I'm not an
iptables wizard, but send me what you've got (offlist preferred, this
list is not for iptables) and I'll take a look.
(If Linux makes it through another kernel release without changing
filters again, I may actually bother with learning iptables. I'm sick of
the packet-filter of the month for now tho).
