Hi all,
My vpopmail databse blew itself up last night. Nothing that I wasn't albe
to piece back together after a while, but quite a scare this morning.
So, my immediate (self-imposed) project has become to write a script to
recreate the vpopmail database from the qmail file structure in case
something like this happens again. I imagine this would be something that
a lot of people would like to have, so I think it is a worthwhile
endeavor.
I do have a bunch of questions about the database however, if anyone here
knows.
1. It seems that the domain dom_89 in the dir_control table is a counter
(in the cur_users field) of how many domains are installed. Is this
correct?
2. How do the domain names get munged for the table name creation? I have
seen that - and . become underscore (_). What else gets changed?
3. Is the pw_password field a standard MD5 of the pw_clear_password? If
not, what is it (and what function does this in perl?) - This is needed
for users missing from the database completely. An default exntry will
need to be made.
Thanks,
Warren
