My vpopmail databse blew itself up last night. Nothing that I wasn't albe
to piece back together after a while, but quite a scare this morning.
So, my immediate (self-imposed) project has become to write a script to
recreate the vpopmail database from the qmail file structure in case
something like this happens again. I imagine this would be something that
a lot of people would like to have, so I think it is a worthwhile
endeavor.
Take a look at my backup/restore scripts. I back my whole system up
every evening, just in case this happens. The restore script (while you
may lose some emails while the server is dead) puts all the
users/emails/passwords back into a fresh install. It's rather easy to
dump all the pertinent information.
