I have run the script which uninstalls bind: rpm -e --nodeps bind bind-chroot caching-nameserver
I rebuilt the djbdns rpms with: Rpmbuild --rebuild --with fdr50 djbdns-1.05-1.0.2.src.rpm Then Rpm -Uvh djbdns-localcache-1.05-1.0.2.i386.rpm This of course errors with my previous error. I searched the following: rpm -qa | grep caching rpm -qa | grep nameserver rpm -qa | grep caching-nameserver All return nothing. The following are the results from yum: ---------------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED] i386]# rpm -qa | grep bind bind-libs-9.3.2-20.FC5 ypbind-1.19-0 bind-utils-9.3.2-20.FC5 bind-config-9.3.2-20.FC5 [EMAIL PROTECTED] i386]# yum list | grep bind bind-config.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 installed bind-libs.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 installed bind-utils.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 installed ypbind.i386 3:1.19-0 installed bind.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 updates bind-chroot.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 updates bind-debuginfo.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 updates bind-devel.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 updates bind-libbind-devel.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 updates bind-sdb.i386 30:9.3.2-20.FC5 updates kdebindings.i386 3.5.3-0.1.fc5 updates kdebindings-debuginfo.i386 3.5.3-0.1.fc5 updates kdebindings-devel.i386 3.5.3-0.1.fc5 updates system-config-bind.noarch 4.0.0-42_FC5 updates xbindkeys.i386 1.7.2-4.fc5 extras ---------------------------- No mention anywhere of a caching server -----Original Message----- From: Christian Fuchs [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, July 10, 2006 10:26 AM To: qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com Cc: qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com Subject: Re: [qmailtoaster] DJBDNS installation errors you have also installed bind out of the distro ? deinstall bind first ?! > When I attempt to run the fdr50-djbdns-localcache-install.sh script it > functions properly until it attempts to install the djbdns RPMs. > > > > The errors: > > > > -------------------- > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] i386]# rpm -Uvh djbdns-localcache-1.05-1.0.2.i386.rpm > > error: Failed dependencies: > > caching-nameserver conflicts with > djbdns-localcache-1.05-1.0.2.i386 > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] i386]# > > -------------------- > > > > Yet 'rpm -qa | grep djb' returns nothing.
