If your mail server is refusing messages that are forwarded to you by a mailing list server, how is it not a problem with your server?

Since I added the patch mentioned in this qmail thread re: qmail-dk -- http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=qmail&m=115708466507369&w=2 -- I haven't had a single odd "probe" or "sorry I've given up" bounce from mailing list servers that service the high-volume lists that I subscribed to.

(The problem is most prevalent from mailing list senders who are using yahoo and gmail -- two domains that sign their messages with domainkeys)

Someone who is using an older version of qmailtoaster or that doesn't doaminkey sign their outgoing messages may want to forward this note to Erik -- I'm using gmail w/domainkeys!

Either way, that error was for a remote user. IE not a problem with
your servers.

What probably happened is someone subscribed to this mailing list and
was later deleted from the domain. Since they never unsubscribed, you
get a bounce from their mail server every time a mail is sent to the
mailing list. I believe ezmlm should be able to automatically remove
this stuff, but its hard to say.

I am not seeing these bounces on my Gmail, so I can't say for sure.
I'd need to look at the error. If someone could send me an
unsanitized/full header e-mail of the bounce I can troubleshoot
properly.

Thanks,
Erik
