Um, hm. If qmail *always* queues a message before delivery, wouldn't
that prevent qmail from ever even sending the message? I think queuing
is handled separately than delivery, so, by the time qmail got around to
sending the message, the e-mail would have already been purged from the
queue.
That could lead to some very weird issues, I think. No?
As you said (and the man page), "after this time expires, qmail-send will
try the message once more, but it will treat any temporary delivery failures
as permanent failures."
If queuelifetime were a parameter for qmail-queue, that might be an issue,
but it's not. queuelifetime is a parameter of qmail-send, so I'm guessing
that a queuelifetime of 0 will attempt delivery exactly one time.
