Hi,
I was asking exactly the same question last week and not too many people
had any answers. I wish I had some systems around here I could test it
out with so I could maybe explain it to everyone else.

My approach is not going to be very hi-tech; I plan to have cron run a
script to dump the vpopmail MySQL databases and SCP them over to the
other MX, which will then import that database. Because, I'm going to
guess qmail checks that database DIRECTLY for SMTP authentication.

If you end up trying that, let me know how it works out, OK?

the problem in your solution would be, that any incoming smtp-con would be treated as a local user and the mail would be stored on that secondary... Sorry, but this isn't very effective... ;)
