I don't think you'll get much benefit from 2 toasters w/out a storage
server. I get a headache just thinking about how that would work.

Short of that, I'd be sure to run raid (software raid works well, you don't
need a raid card) to protect against disk failure. That's by far the most
likely point of failure (other than a power outage).
