No need to apologize. It's the volley back and forth that get it
solved. What you would do naturally isn't so obvious (or the first
thing that comes to mind) when the machine isn't right in front of you.

You make a good point. Things do change. If the recipient server had
installed spamdyke, this would result in pretty much the same
rejection (message wording might be slightly different).
