Im just catching the end of this thread but I have seen some antivirus
and firewall protection combos kill some
mail authentication methods.
Just for time being shutdown these apps to see if this is where the
issue lies.
It has all the symptoms!

Is it possible that this client's name resolution is giving the IP
address of a different host?
# host mail.panasiagroup.net
# host smtp.panasiagroup.net
This host looks ok to me from what I can check.
