Eric, and list,

Installed the relevant files on my test machine, and everything went well except for one minor issue.  Installing/Upgrading the files with yum resulted in yum erroring out because the files were not signed.  I used "rpm" instead and the install continued with no issue.  all looks good on my test machine and I plan on installing on my production box early next week.

List (CentOS 5 users),

ClamAV w/pcre & zlib for x86/x86_64 is available in CentOS 5 'current' repo, here <>.

The most recent version of pcre and zlib were required for x86 (i386) architecture.

If the links don't work wait for mirrors to synchronize (rsync) or use instead of

Instructions here:

This tested fine for me, as always, user at your own risk.

Yup, you're right Aleksander.
Now clamav works for me on my CentOS 5. :)

1. Download

2. Compile pcre with different prefix:
mkdir /usr/local/PCRE
./configure --enable-utf8 --enable-unicode-properties --prefix=/usr/local/PCRE
make install

3. Modify clamav-toaster.spec and build package.
%configure --with-pcre=/usr/local/PCRE

4. Install new clamav-toaster:
rpm -Fvh --nodeps clamav-toaster-0.100.0-1.0.17.x86_64.rpm

I modified rpmrelease too.
