This feature is now implemented in the trunk. However we still have an 
issue (bug #1161) with Firefox 3.0 how eats up keypress events for 
Down/Up in text fields. For the moment there is a workaround implemented 
which cleans up the selection in Firefox. This seems to fix it for the 
moment, but means a misbehave of Firefox compared to other clients like 
Safari or IE.
