Thanks for your answer - I thought about implementing SVG generation but 
couldn't find a suitable and lightweight framework. But it'd be an 
interesting option since it would let me keep the client frontend 
entirely on the client side.

It'd be great if your framework could build as I'm not yet familiar 
enough with qooxdoo to fix it myself ;) I maybe try when I'm more 
experienced but till then, if you manage to get it working, let me know!
