There are a couple of objective issues with doing Q&A on the mailing list: - Subscription. People have to subscribe to it. Many people dislike to subscribe to an ML, just to get an answer to a question. - Search. It's not easy to search for existing questions and answers. If you don't want to maintain a local list mail store (and who does apart from a few?!), you are left with Nabble. And some find Nabble and its search, well, less appealing. - Relevance. And even if you use Nabble search and get hits, there is still a lot of sifting and sorting to do on your side, before you might find that none of the search hits are actually relevant to your question. I guess, if you give SO a chance, looking for answers (also in other areas, e.g. Javascript, PHP, Web application frameworks, ...), you will find it very useful. You will probably find that both searching existing questions, easily spotting relevant answers, voting and accepting answers, as well as answering, cross-linking answers and building up an easily accessible Q&A knowledge base makes it worthwhile. > I had a closer look to StackOverflow but was not able to find a "qooxdoo > corner". > Well, the corner would be "http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/qooxdoo", and, yes, it's quite empty right now as we've just started :).
