Like with so many things, it's just a matter of habit (like brushing
your teeth before you go to bed). I don't even think about creating bugs
anymore, I just do it, and the benefit of being able to track issues and
changes through a bug number seem outweigh the upfront effort.

OTOH, the new bugzilla supports ambiguous matches, so you don't have to
enter the whole email address in the assignee field. Just enter a few
letters and then hit save, and you will be presented with a select box
of possible matches.
