Like with so many things, it's just a matter of habit (like brushing your teeth before you go to bed). OTOH, the new bugzilla supports ambiguous matches, so you don't have to enter the whole email address in the assignee field. Just enter a few letters and then hit save, and you will be presented with a select box of possible matches.
