Peter,
Thanks for your thoughts.
I will give you the background. I am the front of a number of developers. Our
intention is NOT to be demanding in person at all, but very very demanding on
the software/framework/qooxdoo. This has been misunderstood as if it has been
in person, but it is not. These lines are not intended to be a seed for anyone
else to start a debate about this, only to explain to you. We have not expected
to get any answers, but we have got many answers on questions asked. The core
team has been excellent in answering questions, but unfortunately taking things
personal. We will go on being demanding on the software/framework/qooxdoo as we
have chosen it to be the client gui front of a big application in favour of our
customer.
What you have seen here is only a small fragment of our reflections during
development and use of qooxdoo. I filter most of the questions for our group.
Therefore you see only a tiny part of it. We actively contribute at the moment
in three ways: reporting all bugs and inconsistencies we find ( about 50 bugs
reported or in process ), discuss or making others aware of what we found and
how the development process can speed up and direct suggestions on code
additions and changes. We will if the conditions permit, also contribute with a
code base from our own development from studies we have done, are doing and
will do. and developed ourselves.
The other two issues were no questions, only information or reflections and/or
statements:
1. localized key value pairs
- the background here has to do with our finding of too long key strings and
how to solve that
- we are very well aware of how the locale system works now
- we reported about 5 bugs whereof one is the key issue printed when fallback
is en_us instead of en_US (standard)
2. contatentation of tr-objects
- it is reasonable to think that it should work and it has been reported as a
bug before we found it
- if it should work or not is another question
Again, we have no interest of debating in person or in company/organisation. If
there is any interest to debate technology, we are very interested to lay out
the words...As a matter of fact, too few of those discussions here today!
Just to explain.
Stefan
