Hi Josef, I don't use the remote requests and I don't use PHP, so I can't really give you a working example for that.
But you can use the firebug console in FF to look at what is transmitted to your server. There is a PHP RPC contribution including documentation and example code at http://qooxdoo.org/contrib/project/rpcphp Perhaps this get's you further?
